Quick question for Headlight relay upgrade users
Question For those who have done the headlight relay upgrade, (I bought my kit from LMC, p/n 36-3580), did your kit have a fusible link? If so, does it go from the positive battery cable to the junction block on the passenger fender?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Quick question for Headlight relay upgrade users
I have the upgrade but didn't use a kit and I do have a fusible link from junction block on pass fender to battery positive.

Re: Quick question for Headlight relay upgrade users
I connected mine directly to the Pos terminal using an extender similar to this. Got mine at NAPA.

Re: Quick question for Headlight relay upgrade users
I used a 40 amp fuse and tied straight off the battery terminal. Just because it was shorter wiring.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: Quick question for Headlight relay upgrade users
Is this for a GMC? Is it yellow? If so, they've been wired wrong for the last couple of years. Don't know about the Chevrolet two-lamp, but the four-lamp had high beam and low beam reversed in the harness. It's a mess to deal with if you're not aware.

Re: Quick question for Headlight relay upgrade users
I made my kit. But any good kit pulling 30amps should have a fuse link in the wiring off the battery as close to the battery as possible. Going to the fender bulk head to me is not right. If you go to the fender to pull power then you just need to put the fuse in line from there not the battery.

Re: Quick question for Headlight relay upgrade users
I made my harness using two 30 amp circuit breakers at the battery for each relay. Add some H4 bulb assemblies and what a difference!
