1971 chevy signal light problem
I cleaned and re landed every ground I could find. Every time the ignition switch is in the on position the light blue wire for the left turn signal gets hot. I am going crazy any ideas?

Re: 1971 chevy signal light problem
Check continuity for the wires to the lamp. Check for a ground in the circuit to the lamp. Plain, old 'get out the testers and multimeters' and spend some time. I chased an inoperative right front turn signal on the '71 Cheyenne, it was a bad socket assembly. It was worth the time spent, though.

Re: 1971 chevy signal light problem
I disconnected the back of the fuse box and continuity checked the dark blue and light blue ( left and right signal wires ) wires to ground. Both were polarity sensitive but when cleaned sockets and grounds both were about 2 meg ohms one way and reverse polarity showed open. I guess I have to look inside the truck for a short or the left signal light touching a hot wire? Maybe the signal lever switch?

Are you running led park lamps? I had the same problem and I had to get two electronic flashers (for the signals and hazards) and reverse the polarity.

Re: 1971 chevy signal light problem
What I am finding is the light blue wire gets 12 volts every time the ignition switch is turned on. I disconnected the back of the fuse box so the 12 volts is originating on the inside of the truck. I am thinking maybe the steering column directional switch but I cant pull the steering wheel off!
