help needed - tilt column install
i'm installing a rebuilt auto tilt column and i'm having a hard time figuring out how the column is supposed to be secured in the right position front to back. i've read there's supposed to be a tab in the underside of the brake pedal assembly that slides into one of the notches in the column. but i am not seeing anything. the circles in the pictures below are where i think the tab is supposed to be. did someone flatten it? or is that how it's supposed to look?

Re: help needed - tilt column install
It is cut off. See the second pic, you can see where someone looks like they chewed it off. The clamps will work fine just position it where you like the column best but keep in mind the shorter you make it[ I put mine all the way to the bezel] the less tilt action you have be cause of the shortened lever action.
It is gonna tilt the same of course it just seems less. |

Re: help needed - tilt column install
thanks for the confirmation. yep the po "chewed" open the radio and speaker holes, so it makes sense they chewed that off too. lol! i'll probably put a tack weld up there so i can have a nub in the original spot.
