Surging
Today as I headed down the highway had a BMW cut me off, I stepped on the gas (to the floor) into the passing lane and got several repeated hesitations when she shifted up (automatic). Had to let off the gas, slow, problem stopped. Did some troubleshooting while driving. If I stomp on the pedal it will do this every time when she shifts up between 60-70 MPH, if I steadily step on the gas she will go up to speed without any issues. Once it starts it won't stop until it shifts down.
Had this problem some time back at lower speeds, changed the points to a petrtronix system, replaced fuel filters, plugs, wires, etc. no issues at lower speeds? I have read a similar issue but the solution was not published. Hope someone smarter than me has solved this issue?

Re: Surging
Your accelerator pump shot may need to be adjusted, or your accelerator pump diaphragm may be on its way out. Just a guess, but easy to adjust/replace if need be.
