Ignition unfused port
My 68 chevy has had a lot of wiring changed over the ages bypassing dead wires and even corroded parts of the fuse box. Also electronic distributor and choke have been added. What I am concerned about is, the following are now connected to this ignition unfused port and I"m wondering if they really should be fused:
1. Distributor 2. Electric choke 3. Blower relay (wiring book shows this so I guess its ok). Should these actually be fused and if so what fuse rating? Mechanic actually told me the distributor unfused was ok..but I'm a bit mystified by that. The ignition side of the fuse box has corroded out so it has been bypassed. I"m adding a small blade box to replace the dead section. Wondering if I should run these things through a fuse.

Distributor = OK on Ign Unfused. I don't run a fuse on it. Elec choke = OK on Ign Unfused. I don't run a fuse on it Blower Relay = I've never seen one on Ign Unfused terminal and it needs to be fused (A/C or no?) What wiring diagram are you looking at? I would change out the under dash wire loom for a good one and do it right. LockDoc

Re: Ignition unfused port
LockDoc said all of the things I would have said and that's how I run mine as well.
Fuses are to protect the wiring as much as anything, and the electric choke and the ignition are really short and separate wires that weren't originally on these trucks.
