Thinking of making a purchase on a 67. V6 351E Questions...
I am thinking about buying a 67 gmc 3/4 ton. It does run and drive. Has air, powet steering and brakes. Now I have never had a v6 351E before. They were not available in Canada and are super uncommon here. Are these hard to find parts for if I ever need them. Are they fairly solid engines. It has an auto transmission. I believe a 400. It is 50 yrs old so I am sure it will need some tlc just want make sure I am not buying something that I can't get parts for if needed in the future. Here are some pictures.

not sure how hard engine parts are to find, but you could always pull and store the engine and drop a big block in that bad boy. make that happen!

I haven't tried to buy any parts for one in a long time but I have/had a few of those engines over the years and they were runners. Not fast but powerful. If the back wheels could hook up you could pull a house down. Mine were the 305 version very dependable. Not running any right now though.

Nice looking truck with some options. Never owned one with the big 6 in it but I hear good things about durability.
You're gonna have to dump those #ord side mirrors though. |

That is a nice, highly optioned out GMC with the Optional 351 V6. I'd try to keep it original if possible. Here is a link to a members restored Truck with similar options.

I think it's a nice period correct truck!
I have a 351-C engine in one of mine. Finding one with both A/C and power steering is rare! And power brakes too! Consumable parts are pretty easy to find.Internal parts are very hard to find except used. O'Reilley's has a top end gasket set. Mike. |

Nice truck there. I would buy it for sure and just make it a clean dependable driver.
