Factory Original 16.5" steelies?

I am not sure if these are the same steel wheel that came as an option on a 1972 Blazer. These have holes for clips. I am pretty sure that the originals did not have nubs to hold a hub cap. Please share what you know about the original 16.5x8 wheels and if you have a picture I would like to see it. Thanks.

I don't believe these had nubs for caps and caps were not included from GM when so equipped. The 8-lug 16.5" and 6-lug (3 nub) wheels do accommodate caps. Someone else please confirm. The Chevrolet blazer brochure for the 72 model year has an ochre k5 w what I believe are 16.5" wheels and it has no caps.

I am surprised that there is not more info out there on the correct 16.5" steel wheels.

Not too common option to begin with let alone 40yrs later. I'm guessing most were discarded over the years. BFG dropped their 16.5" at. I expect those on my k20 will be changed for 16" when the time comes.

Re: Factory Original 16.5" steelies?

Here are some 16.5 x 6.0 6-lugs wheels I have. I believe they were also used on G10 vans as well; 3 nubs.
I read in the parts for sale section that another member stated they would fit disc brakes but I can't confirm that.
They have a 4" backspacing and I mounted them on the rear of my suburban just to see if they fit with a 9.5" wide tire and they do.

My 72 K5 CST came from the factory with 31 X 10.50 X 16.5 tires and wheels, according to the build sheet. No hub caps mentioned.
