What is the correct way to remove LS wiring plugs?
Afternoon All,
So, threw my 5.3 into the recently vacated hole left by my small block. All just balanced in there at the moment as still need a gearbox. However, want to take the opportunity to clean, paint the engine and route the wires properly. Question is, what is the correct way to remove the electrical plugs? Started trying to pull the injector harness off and I felt as if I was going to break something, well I am a bit of a Neanderthal when it comes to stuck stuff. Probably a really basic question but if you could advise I would appreciate it. Many thanks, P.

My injector plugs have a little tab (see pic) you have to press to release the catch..all the connectors in my harness have to be mashed or spread to release..

Some connectors on various brands will have a release tab cover to make it an additional item to lift up/remove to allow the tab to then be depressed/lifted up to remove the connector. Auto makers want that connector to stay latched in place, think of the consequences of say a crank sensor comes unplugged?? Vehicle dies and car gets "T-BONED"!! A liability issue for sure.

Thank you.
I will spend a little more time today looking at how it all comes unhooked, some days it is best to walk away than continue and yesterday was that day! P.
