orange truck interiors
Getting my truck painted orange over the next couple of months. Question is I am looking for ideas on what color to paint the interior such as overhead, dash metal, door shell, etc. ....(orange throughout...black....other???) and what color to upholster door panels and seats and such?? Any ideas or especially pics would be greatly appreciated.

How about orange and tan? They go pretty good together.

Black, Tan, Orange are all good choices.Brown would also work. The grey would be OK,especially if you did grey and black with Orange accents.White is another color, but I wouldn't want to be the one to clean it,though it might work if you live outlaw biker(er trucker style) and make the ol'lady clean it if she wants to ride.

You could do orange and off-white......... then you could buy this new seat cover I have for sale (assuming you have a bench seat)

I wonder if you can get the orange houndstooth fabric like in a '69 Camaro pace car. I think that would look pretty trick, and factory if done right. I guess my second choice would be black with the black/white houndstooth inserts.

If you guys are interested I can call the company that makes our seat covers and see if they can do a black w/ black and orange hounds tooth.
FYI my dad (Rick) remembers when he was working on these at the dealerships when they were new and he said there was a couple that had a promo package that looked like that, we also saw one here a few years back that had it as an option in the glove box (it said "Promotional Package" or something like that) |

Here is mine. If I had to do it again I would go camel leather.
Tan leather just looks awesome with orange!!!

I've had two different setups in my orange truck.
The first was orange and white tuck and roll with painted doorpanels. I changed it because vinyl is too hot for a daily driver in Texas. EDIT: This is the wrong picture. This is before we stitched the seat. Door panels give you the idea though.

The second round was two tone tweed. It looked like ass. I freakin hated it as soon as we turned off the sewing machine.

Tweed over factory door panels with early (like 63-66) armrests, that we also tweeded. The armrests bolt right in place of the stock ugly (my opinion) ones on these trucks. The armrests are available from any supplier for about the same price as stock 67-71 model ones.

Hey Rick, Any chance of Pace car orange houndstooth AND vinyl covers for '69 buckets? How about a pair of '69-'70 CST orange vinyl with woodgrain door panels? Headliner? All the correct material is available, and probably "in house". I've been obsessed with doing one of these ever since the "PACETRUCK" craze started back in the late '70's! I just keep collecting parts, and putting it off for another 6 months! Lifted this off the board months ago, and had a little fun with it. My apologies to whomever's truck this was! LOL! Mike
