LS Airbox

Thought I'd share my air box.

95-97 chevy truck under hood storage box with "ram air" opening in core support and temp sensor relocation.

Thanks! I think they are in just about every truck and suv. Some of the diesel trucks had 2nd batteries in that location.

I really wanted to find something GM to use and this popped in my head.

I always called them turbo mouths because they are often seen on turbo cars. Bell mouth sounds better.

Especially if you run one on a supercharged car....turbo mouth wouldn't feel right

Re: LS Airbox

heres mine
used the stock hose, with a K&N on the end.

sawed off the big empty square on the stock hose cause it was hitting the radatior
covered the hole with a data plate i took from a abandoned coal fired powerplant in Greenville SC

now gotta figure out how to get the AC compressor on

Re: LS Airbox

I wonder if that box would make a nice home for the ECU and relays needed for my upcoming LQ9 swap? Seems like the right location for the typical truck harness. I remember this box in my 96 K1500 well!

Thumbs up Re: LS Airbox

Here is mine.

4" hole cut for the air to enter the box.

4" coupler to mount the ninty and box and K&N filter.

The caddy box with another 4" hole cut and coupler installed. I sealed off the factory opening.

Box installed with the ninty and a bracket I made.

This is how it looks done.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I'm sure it would. Would be a nice way to hide all that junk. I chose to use it as an air box so I could do the ram air thing. All of my electronics are under the seat with amplifiers, relays and the push button start box. It was just too much to squeeze in there and not stress the harness connections.
