4 speed setup
Complete, shifter, crossmember, clutch, tranny, pedal, EVERYTHING. It's taking up valuable space in my garage. Someone must want it. I'm going to have to put it outside soon if someone doesn't want it.

Let me talk to my dad, he lives out there in Tucson too. I'm sure he could hold on to it for me for a little while. I'll get back to you!

if memory serves, that's from a BB block which means a different trans crossmember than for SB or I6 trucks. If you're doing a conversion and want it "as stock" that would be a good piece to get ahold of.

Is this the crossmember that attaches to the tail of the tranny or at the bellhousing?

Do you want to come look? I'm thinking, I've posted this several times, no one seems to want it, I'll take it to the metal scrap dealer next week and sell it by the pound.

I would've paid a few bucks for that crossmember awhile back when I was still going to do my big block converson.

Did it by chance come off of a BB truck as Canada20 stated above?
If so how much do you have to have for it? Thanks |

Yes, my truck is a 402, was 4 speed, now 700R4. Are you interested in the whole setup?

I am really only interested in the X-member. The transmission would be too costly to ship this far. I have a 71 SWB that had a transplanted 305/4 spd and I have put a 402 in the truck now. Everything is in the truck and ready to run except the crossmember won't bolt up like it should. I have all the parts for an auto conversion but would like to keep the manual as I just spent $150 to surface flywheel, new pressureplate, clutchdisk, and throwout bearing. I also have a couple parts trucks if there are any parts you may be looking for and would consider a trade?

I'm not inclined to sell just the crossmember. Then I'd be left with a complete changeover EXCEPT the crossmember. You are probably right, the trans shipping would be a killer. If someone wanted everything else, and all I'd have left would be the crossmember, then I'd be more willing. Or, if someone wanted everything except the trans, I'd break it up that way.

OK, I'm trying to be fair here........I asked $300.00 obo for everything. I called around and found a crossmember from a BB/4 speed truck for 60.00 from a salvage yard. I'll do that if you want, or, if you want, I'll give you the name, address and phone number of the yard that has it. Is that fair?

Bill,
That sounds fair! Will you email me a phone # and a convenient time to call. I will call you to talk about it. I talk better than I type. Thanks for your help and patience. Steve Last edited by ole yeller; 10-07-2003 at 11:12 PM. |
