1961 Lowering Question
My first experience with a 60-62 (1961 GMC Suburban)...
Is there a way to lower front without changing out entire front front crossmember and suspension???

Re: 1961 Lowering Question
Welcome 66 Burban!
You can turn down the torsion bars to lower the front. Here is one of many links that address that. Any pics of your 61 GMC? http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...bar+adjustment

Re: 1961 Lowering Question
New ball joints and drop spindles. Turning bars out to lower. Shorter tires.
About as low as bars will take you with care of speed bumps and pot holes because there is no bump stops.

Re: 1961 Lowering Question
8.5" at bumper with 235/60/15. Now this is not alignment frindly but I was on my way to swap out everything. Now the drop spindles would help achieve same thing with alignment. Remember tire to inner fender clearance.

Re: 1961 Lowering Question
My torsion bar bolts were about 4" off the ground and that cleared most things. There were a couple of driveways I regularly went thru that I had to watch.
