Re: Valve train Noise
I can get it to play but the exhaust is so loud I can barely hear the valve noise but I can hear it..I wouldn't think I should hear it at all so I would say its excessive.

Re: Valve train Noise
I've heard valve train noise on ls motors is common. This is my first ls motor so not sure how much noise is normal.

Re: Valve train Noise
When you go high lift cam and heavier springs you will get valve noise. The only other thing to check is the pushrod backlash.

Re: Valve train Noise
If you recently switched to a header from a cast manifold, your actually hearing the valve events from the exhaust site of the head. The thin wall tubes are NOISY and you'll hear pingy-ticky noises which never used to be there.
If your valvetrain geo is actually off, it'll sound like your trying to turn over one of those old external pushrod engines...like a damn sewing plant from the 1930's.

Re: Valve train Noise
I've always had long tubes on it. You can only hear it during a certain rpm and at idle
