Fuse Block "Pins" ??

With short of buying a complete under dash harness can the fuse block be re-conditioned?

Can the in my words the "pins" that hold the Glass Fuses in place and the Straight Blade connectors that use the Push in Wire Housing Plugs be replaced or would that be Only a Complete unit exchange thing?

The picture here I have circled what my question is all about.

Each of those is actually a terminal on the end of the wire, so yes, they can be replaced. I have a bunch of spare harnesses I would pirate them from, but you can likely buy them new as well and crimp-solder them on. Then they just stick into the big black plastic block that forms the fusebox and you're done.

Catalog/ Info looks great but what was shown doesn't look like the ones used for the Haz. & Dir.Sig. flashers I wood think they would be different from what is used for the others? Also I need to understand what these Acronym's mean for the Fuse Taps- ATC,ATO,ATM mini. The .187 & .250 are the widths of the fuse taps I would think. Any more help would be appreciated. thanks

You can remove all of the fuse holders and spade terminals from the fuse block, clean them and put it back together.

I took some out of an old harness and I pretty much cracked/chipped the Bakelite fuse box getting them out. So, be careful in prying those puppies out, it's not that easy. If you do manage to get them out, try head blasting them with fine glass beads....works pretty good, you could always use a media tumbler to do the job as well.

In what you just said about the possibilities of breakage in the Fuse Holder it self I wonder that LockDoc had just forgotten about that, Hummmm? I think I'll just try and use my Dremel tool with some kind of wire wheel and buff the rust off the pins.

That's NOT what I am after. What I want to do is re build the Fuse Block pins or glass fuse holders that are Originally installed in the fuse block.

You might try masking the face of the fuse block with "painters tape" then head blasting the terminals lightly, I wouldn't dwell in that area very long though.

Yah I also thought of doing something like that. I have a small hand held blaster that does & can use soda blasting media & I do have different sizes/grit of media so I guess I'd do a little experimenting with the different grits of media probably sticking with the Soda. thanks

I never had any trouble with chipping or cracking the fuse block. All you have to do is bend the retainers on the terminals in and pull the fuse holders and spade terminals out of the block. Clean them up, bend the retainers back out and insert them back into the holes in the fuse block.

Do you mean by "bending" the retainers you are talking about where the Glass Fuse holds it self in? If that is what you are talking in "bending" I'll pass on that idea. Taking that curve out and then re bending it back into its original shape doesn't sound good to me at all keeping in mind the thinness of the metal. just my .02 cents

No. If you look at a fuse block close you will see what holds the spade terminals and fuse clips in the block.
