Engine out, couple questions...
Pulled the engine last week for a rebuild, while out want to clean up/paint the engine compartment plus replace rotted parts. What is the name of the rubber wire protector/shroud on top of the firewall? Could not find it on the "Classic Parts" website, which I've had good luck with in the past.
Secondly, pressure washed the engine bay & suspension, and the A arms sure don't look 44 years old to me. Upper A arm is stamped 3785 on one side, 3786 on the other. The rear end is out of a mid/late eighties 3/4 ton, could the front suspension be non 72 also?? Last edited by NorCalC20LWB; 08-09-2016 at 09:05 PM. Reason: Add a picture |

Re: Engine out, couple questions...
I can't answer the A arm question, but you need a wire gutter for the firewall. All vendors seem to sell them in sets of 2. One for the firewall and one for the core support.

Re: Engine out, couple questions...
Thank you FirstOwner, that is exactly what I was trying to find! Anybody have any ideas about the suspension? Or maybe best to re post in the suspension section?
Thanks for any input, Brian |
