It says matching numbers, but as we know you can't match numbers in a truck because there' so sequence or partial vin on the block.
Was it perhaps different in Canada I wonder? Are Canadian truck engines serialized? Or just a vanilla statement they like to throw in their ads?

Nice truck, and well optioned! Unfortunately, when I see the words "numbers matching" it makes me question everything else that is stated.
I get it from a marketing position, but it's an outright lie to say any number has been matched on these trucks, because it takes physically looking at parts for matching numbers; round hole, round peg. If I were a buyer, I'd ask him exactly what numbers were matched, and watch him continually refer back to the SPID. All that jazz aside, really a nice truck for a decent price. |

Re: Neat Cheyenne Super big block for sale in Alberta
VIN sequence aside, I may differ in opinion, but I do lend some credibility to "numbers matching" on these trucks if:
Block decking number is still intact and corresponds to an engine that was installed in a truck matching the SPID (provided the SPID matched the truck). Engine casting date is within two months of being before the truck's build date. Build date (on deck) is within a couple of weeks after the casting date. Without the VIN sequence, you can't say for certain, but if the above conditions are met, then the engine likely came with the truck. Or someone went through great pains to find an engine that could have came with the truck. Last edited by geunther; 08-16-2016 at 05:02 PM. |

Nice truck, nicely optioned too.
Thats a bit too much $ tho' for a 3/4 ton in my books...but I'm based on the 1/2 tons. I would put that a solid $12K-15K truck....if its rust free. Regardless, good find and worth keeping an eye on. all good Coley
