Does anyone have a pic of a factory PTO?
I'm really curious about factory PTOs. I grew up in a farming city but never saw one, I guess because people had tractors, not trucks. So trucks would use them for snowblowers, maybe a winch, and... that's about where I draw a blank.
What else would you use a PTO on a truck for? Dump beds and tow trucks I assume to be hydraulic, but you could drive a hydraulic pump with a PTO, so... And were they always in the front? I just know very little and there's not much on the board about them. Some come off the transfer case and some off the transmission... or only some trucks? I'm primarily interested in what GM offered from the factory. I need the "3 minute PTO for Dummies" brain dump...

I'd like to know more about this, too. I've pondered putting that port on the side of my NP435 to use.
