Need help identifying rear end

Hi. My truck is a Canadian built 1961 GMC half ton. It has a 10 bolt rear end with the number 0707340 stamped on the differential itself. I cannot see a number on the axle tube because there is a bracket on the passenger side covering where I think the numbers would be. This picture is off the internet, but looks identical to the one in my truck. Any help much appreciated.

Re: Need help identifying rear end

This question gets brought up quite often on here, not a gm 10 bolt, your rear end is an eaton ho32, used on 55-62 trucks. Most are posi with a 3.90 gear ratio. Good rear ends but pretty hard to find parts for. These are easily identified by the panhard bar mount, differential cover and removable third member

Re: Need help identifying rear end

Awesome. Thanks so much for the help. So, I think mine is posi, but the worn out kind. It is on jack stands in the rear currently, when I turn one wheel, the other wheel stays stationary. I read somewhere all older Eaton posi units used the same size clutch plates?

Why I was wondering in the first place, was I bought rear axle brake lines from Classic Industries and they didn't even come close to fitting. Anybody know a source of repro brake lines for this rear end?

Re: Need help identifying rear end

I'm not sure if brake lines are reproduced for this rear end but it would be wise to invest in a flaring kit do you can flare and bend your own brake lines
