Ididit is incorrect

"Original Chevy Truck Steering Wheels Original 1960-66 steering wheels will NOT fit on top of any ididit 1960-66 Chevy truck column. With the help of ididit’s 1955-68 horn kit w/ ring, a stock 1967-72 wheel will bolt to your 1967-72 ididit steering column. The 1973-78 stock steering wheel will bolt directly to the top of an ididit steering column with no additional accessories or modifications."

I modified my original 60 steering wheel and what do you know it works self cancelling and everything.

Re: Ididit is incorrect

I'd be interested in seeing this as well. I have my original deluxe steering wheel sitting in a box gathering dust but would love to fit it back to the truck.

Re: Ididit is incorrect

Its easier than you would think. The self cancelling dohickey on original wheel is clocked to about 2 on the wheel. My wheel has 6 holes. 3 to hold the horn button and 3 that vary in size. One that is too small for the new self cancelling dohickey is at the 10:30 position that Ididit says the clocking position needs to be at. I took a size V drill bit and hogged that hole out. It now fits over the self canelling/horn dohickey.... Also important is the spine count. Im not sure all chevy wheels have a 36 spline but mine did and so does the Ididit column.
To make sure everything will work before you drill anything turn yer wheel 90 degrees with the self cancelling/horn dohickey at 1030 slip the wheel on. A little wiggleing and the wheel should fit. If you have a fit drill as prescribed above and the wheel should be straight and self cancel will work. Ididit also provides a chrome ring in the horn button kit you need to purchase that yer supposed to caulk in place. That does not fit. And will need to not be used. A few test fits and you will see. Or you might get lucky. I wasnt.
