My 1st 67 GMC Truck
While searching for a Pontiac powered 57-59 project, I ran across this 67 and purchased it. I'm new to the collecting aspect of these trucks/this forum and I'm wondering what you all think about this one. I would like to keep it as original as possible so let me know if what you see out of place.
No tag in the glove box but here's some details: - CE1590DZC1xxxA - 327 - no accessory bolts in heads (haven't checked casting date, numbers, or code but looks original) - Dash tach - Auto trans - Power steering - Power brakes - Large back window - This owner had the truck for the last 30 years Questions Is the seat original? - it was recovered but they thought it was an original How to find original exterior paint color? - again they thought it was original but interior is a different color Sun visor? Did these come with wood and steel beds? This one was said to be wood planks and was replaced with double plywood. Thank you! |

Look for original paint color in obscure places like up behind dash or behind door panels. The interiors were a different color in '67, except in higher trim level. Is it missing the passenger sun visor? That was an option in the lower level trim. Yes, wood floor was an option starting in '67 when steel floors came out

Re: My 1st 67 GMC Truck
Congrats! I looked at that truck a couple of months back. I think the seats are correct as is the interior and exterior colors. The outside has been repainted. It ran decent, but needed a little carb work. Did you get a decent buy on it?
Same colors as mine...

Re: My 1st 67 GMC Truck
Great looking GMC! I just picked up my first truck of this era as well, a 1970 GMC C15. Look forward to seeing more about it.

Thanks all for the welcome and information. I'm excited to start cleaning up the truck and replacing the wood bed. I'll post pictures of the progress.

Re: My 1st 67 GMC Truck
You have a guy not terribly far from you who makes those bed floors. Probably the first vendor to do it, Bruce Horkney, if you don't plan to do your own
