67-70 drum brakes had their own tie rod, 71-72 discs got a different tie rod. I don't know if it's possible but you may have 73-87 calipers on 71-72 spindles.

Some disc brake conversion use the one ton outer tie rods. bigger diameter main right handed threads on outer rod and smaller left handed inner tie rods.

I would try the 71-72 version.
Same thread as the 73-87 tie Rod, with a different spindle taper.
