Ahh! I Had The Wrong Starter!!!

So, I get down to Kragen's and I tell the guy what's up, and he tells me that the "M" in my starter part #, means it's for a newer truck (which means it's for a 153 tooth flexplate!) So, all this time, my damn problem has been my STARTER! So, I got the CORRECT part # this time, it doesn't LOOK to be different, although one of the sides on this new one was a SLIGHT bit longer..so, I'm off to go put it on and I'll report back.
(In any case, according to Kragen's website, the flexplate and starter I NOW have, are guranteed to work together...) Wish me luck!

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Haha, I put the starter on a few minutes ago, and WOW is it close!! I think I hit the jackpot! I haven't yet started it because I"m scared to (I don't even know how a GOOD starting truck sounds, haha)
THe guy at Kragen's said "Wow, I'm surprised you even got it to start AT ALL. The two starters are so different it's not funny!"
HOPEFULLY, running that wrong starter didn't mess up this new flexplate too bad, so that this new starter will start just fine...I'll report back later tonight about it.
