69 side mirror screws giving me a FIT!
Ok I can not believe this but two of the side mirror screws on one side came out but we're very difficult and the third the Phillip head stripped so I tried to drill through it and use an extractor... No luck it will not budge. The other side I tried an impact driver and None of them will budge... One again stripped and same result. These screws seem like they are aluminum or some type of cheep steel and I am just at a loss on how to remove them without ruining the threads inside the door panel

I hit screws of that diameter repeatedly with PB Blaster and use a hand impact to break free, pneumatic tools destroy them as you found out!

Yep been trying PB and also my 20v cordless impact driver. Also tried applying heat.... Nothing will get them to budge at all

Next time try a hand impact it won't strip them out. http://www.cornwelltools.com/webcat/...r-Bit-Set.html

Drill the heads off and remove the mirror. The inside mounting plate will drop down inside the door. Fish it out and work on removing the screws on your work bench, it's a lot easier that way. LockDoc

Re: 69 side mirror screws giving me a FIT!
Awesome I think that should work. I didn't realize there is a backing place inside the door I just figured there were threaded nuts that were attached to the inside of the door.
Thanks I will give that a try |

The maintenance schedule should have recommended removing these screws every year or 12,000 miles and lubing them to keep them freed up ;-)
