Vanschoyck MetalWorks & Artistry's 67 c10
hey guys I'm new here, just registered yesterday. My name is Brando Vanschoyck, i'm working on starting my own metal working business and the plan for my 67 is to make it into a shop truck. A little about me, I'm 29, I'm from southeastern Ky, I'm a competitive powerlifter/strongman, an artist, a musician, a novice blacksmith, and a pretty green welder/fabricator. This is my first build and my first 67-72 style truck! I picked this truck up for $50, its an original 67 LWB. All the numbers match as far as the sticker in the glove box, plate on the driver side door, and the frame. The truck does have a salvage title but thats ok! plans for now is to get it to lay frame, and go from there! I wanna leave the patina for now and just fix the structural parts of the truck. My goal is to buy as few aftermarket made parts as possible since, 1-im broke, and 2-i just like building things myself! hope you guys enjoy the ride as much as i have/will!

Re: Vanschoyck MetalWorks & Artistry's 67 c10
and now on with the progress pics...so far we (fiance and i) have stripped the truck down to just the frame, shortened the frame to make it a SWB, took all the springs/shocks off to make way for the bags/new shocks etc, and started on Z-ing the frame 3". along the way we have removed crossmembers etc. Wow writing it down makes it sound like not much work!!!

passenger side Z (and a pic of me doing some overhead E6011 in a terrible spot haha) actually had to bend the rod in the middle to make it reach correctly!

Re: Vanschoyck MetalWorks & Artistry's 67 c10
Thank you so much! I'm very happy to be here! This truck means a lot to me because it's my first build ever! I've only been welding/fabricating for a little over a year, although I do it almost every single day. I went from being a guy who couldn't fix anything to a guy who can cut a truck apart and put it back together, you have no clue how good it feels!!! My point is...if I can do it, anyone can do it!!! Just takes a lot of time and practice!

Re: Vanschoyck MetalWorks & Artistry's 67 c10
here's what I've got in store for the front as of now. didn't want to go through the hassle of cupping my LCA's but I may have to? Really wish i could afford some tubular LCA's and be done with it, we will see!
