61 Apache Poly Cab Mounts

Restoring a 61. I can readily find Polyurethane Cab Mount Bushing Sets for 63-66. But of course I can't fine the same for a 61. Are the 63-66 kits that much different? Anyone aware of a source or any other recommendations?

Thanks, Dave

Re: 61 Apache Poly Cab Mounts

Myself personally I would never use poly for body mounts. Every time I have seen them used (on a driver that is), the non-giving nature of the poly mounts cause the sheet metal to tear.

Put in good factory body mounts and use the poly for suspension seems to be a good combo.

But if you are still interested, like you I had noticed that their doesn't seem to be much advertisement of poly for the 60-61 models.

Re: 61 Apache Poly Cab Mounts

There are no body mount sets for 60-62's. The 63-66 sets are the same, but require a couple of the bolts swapped out for longer ones. Readily available at any hardware store.

Re: 61 Apache Poly Cab Mounts

My 61 k10 ones were square, not round. Had some square steel shims also. The 63-66 are round and the thickness of the front ones (if i remember right) were thinner. they worked just fine. Another note, they were poly.

I ordered a set of 63-66s for my 62 and they were much to thick the guy that installed them had to cut them shorter.

How thick did the front ones end up being?

Re: 61 Apache Poly Cab Mounts

Sorry I did not do the install. All I know is that they had to be shortened.
