Headers for LS motor in Task Force
I was on track to use the stock manifolds that came on my LQ4 engine, but they are barely clearing the boxed in frame rails. I've noticed the Sanderson headers are used. Do these clear better than the stock manis? Is there an ultimate tight fit header system? By the way 55 Task Force with LQ4 truck LS motor bolted to 4L80E trans.

1.) Take pictures of how you mounted the LS + 4L80e - I need ideas for how to take a second shot at it and mount my LS right. Not happy with how mine turned out.
2.) Take a look at 2010 Camaro manifolds, GTO, 2001-era F-body, etc - lots of guys go to long tubes and sell their tighter-fitting manifolds pretty cheap. The Hooker manifolds are a very near clone of 2010 Camaro manifolds - and these things all flow a lot of exhaust just fine.

I've got a set of 1997-2004 C5 exhaust manifolds and 2001-04 C5 ZO6 exhaust manifolds I'd like to clear out of my inventory. -Bob

I was gonna say Hooker cast are the way to go. You can get them on eBay for about $300. They are the exact reproduction of trailblazer SS manifolds. That's what I use anyway. They are very tight against the block.

I used Trailblazer SS manifolds. They cleared with plenty of room to spare, my frame rails are also boxed too.
The Trailblazer manifolds are not in demand and can be had fairly cheap too |

You may also consider cutting and welding your manifolds. They are cast steel. I have done 2 this way and it works fine.

Perfect frame and steering shaft clearances (1 u joint from rack, straight 18"DD to a u joint to the steering column). This is a 55.2 with LS LQ4, 4L80E and full C4 suspension on boxed in stock frame. I want to post my motor mount pics, but I am assuming only from a photobucket account? On other forums I can post pics direct from my iphone. I used these. I even found a deal on Camaro downpipes with the cats and O2 bungs. No stinky smelling exhaust.
