drain gas tank?
any ideas on how to drain tank without taking tank out of truck? She's been sitting for about 10 months with a an 1/8 of a tank and i don't want to run it through my truck. thanks in advance

as far as I know, there isn't a good way to drain the tanks in these trucks, other than pulling it out and dumping it. You might try one of those cheap plastic pumps that goes on a drill and takes a garden hose fitting, that might do the trick.

If i remember correctly, there is a rubber hose coming out of the bottom of the tank, and out of the bottom of the cab. I think you can pull that hose off of the metal fuel line, and drain it.

10 months isnt that long to me. I would fill it with 92 octane and just run it. change the fuel filter after a few tanks and I would think everything would be ok. My Corvette went over a year on the same tank of fuel about 2 1/2 years ago due to the fact that I rarely drive it and I have had NO PROBLEMS. Even now, I usually park it all winter and never so much as lift the cover off it. Besides, it says in the owners manuel that the car is to be driven only by the man in the family and in sunny weather only! Mine has yet to see a road in the rain. There are just some things that you just dont do................
I say fill up the truck and drive!

I gotta agree with Phil, i've run many cars on 2+ year old gas, never had a problem with it. i just run it till it's almost empty and fill it up.

Yep, I agree, fill her up and run it. I also have a car that sits for long periods and I've never had problems.
