New wheels - pics and specs
First off, I'm Jim - I'm relatively new to the board here and I'd like to thank everybody for all of the great information and advice that's available here. This place is great.
After asking questions here, doing a bunch of math, taking a million measurements and going back and forth on different tire sizes and brands, I finally came up with this so here are some pics of my 1971 C20 with the new wheels. Specs: Tires are Falken Wild Peak A/T3W Wheels are Wheel Vintiques 82 Series 265/75/16 on 16x8 on the front 305/70/16 on 16x10 on the rear

Welcome to the forum. This place is great. Your truck looks like it is ready for business with those tires. Cool.

With those rims/tires, your truck looks like it is "ready to take care of business". Good choice.

Delightful. I have some 265/75/15s on back of my C10 which look pretty big. You have taken it to the next level with great results!

Re: New wheels - pics and specs
Truck looks great! You did a 3/4t right. Made it look cool, more handsome, while giving it a stronger look...as it should be with a 3/4t. If you want to sissify a truck, use a 1/2t.
If someone doesn't like black tires, what color do they like? That black wheel with dog dish caps is the look that was big back then. White spokes came along and changed that. Just about all wide steelies were used in black back then. The white with hubcaps look was very limited and only made a come back more recently. Cars used to run black wheels with baby moons before mags got so popular. It was also cheaper than buying a whole set of wheels for a quick and easy style change. I don't like the current trend of black alloy wheels. They got it all backwards. If I run alloys I want to see some shine for my money. Steel wheels get paint or powder coat or they rust. It's the bare bones tough truck gittin' it done look (that can be refinished over and over). You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on fancy wheels you can only make out up close (being black) to have a tough truck.

I also like the bed cover, is that really a snap on cover? If so I love it even more. Also curious about the radio antenna, what is it off of and can we get a closer shot please?

Re: New wheels - pics and specs
Enjoying this thread, and the comments about a 3/4T looking tough and businesslike are right on.
The rims on my truck are black on the inside, where you can't see them, but have been painted silver (argent) where you can see them, then have the dog dishes to finish them off. I am wondering what came from the factory back in the day? I thought they came a kind of off-white, but not sure.

Not sure what's going on with that antenna - it was on there when I bought it and there's nothing out of the ordinary hooked up to it. Is this pic close up enough for ya?

Re: New wheels - pics and specs
Cool truck, definitely looks tough. I like that copper color, it's not very common.
I think that antenna is from an early 70s jeep. I had a 71 commando with the same one.

I like the way the antenna looks but with the close up view it looks like it might rub the paint

I see no scratches or signs of wear from the antenna.

71...ton, your front sits higher than most C20's. As mentioned by others, it does have an aggressive looking stance. Mine seems to sit lower than most C20's, even with 265/70R-17 in front (285/70R-17 rear). I attribute that to 50 year old 6 cyl springs. The disc's and A-arms were from a '76 SRW C30 with big block. I could have used those springs, but at the time feared it would sit too high for my taste. The stance looks good and initially had to take a second look to see if it wasn't a K20.
