new c1500 owner from lapland. lowrider to highrider project.

sup. i just discovered this forum and all its invaluable information. as the title says, i've been with chevy for a couple of months since i bought this slammed '95 c1500 ext cab with the 350 as a project. quite a lot to do.

been wanting a silverado for about 20 years now so feels awesome. engine wise stock with straight and centered 3" pipe, no cats, with a rotting zombie for a muffler sticking out. beastly sound at idle and low revs but metallic and hollow when i floor it.
weak half-a-burnout to capture the sound. no idea how to embed youtube vids here.

i love the lowrider look but it just doesn't work on these neglected northern streets, isn't practical and it's done poorly with drop spindles up front with chopped springs and flipped rear axle. terrible ride quality. it's currently in the shop having it reversed back to stock height with new springs up front and a fresh ignition lock cylinder with keys.

about as soon as i get it back it'll go from..

...to a 3" in 2,5" out flowtech terminator with 4" magnaflow tips.

making sure it's properly lined up unlike the current fart can.

after that i'll wait till winter is over and remove the bed to replace the bars underneath and have the whole undercarriage sand blasted and painted. new intake, pull the chrome strips around the wheel house, hid lights, phantom grille, steering wheel, moon visor. cosmetic stuff like that.
the future hopefully holds a 6" rough country lift as well. still not decided on what wheels to run on it, those 20" chromes are in a sorry state. right now it sits on black/"patina" steelies with fresh studded 235/75/15 kumho fc11 power grips.

thanks for an awesome source of inspiration and information and cheers from the frozen north

thanks man. here's a slight update. bit frosty and not as shiny as it'll be once winter passes. got it back a few days after my first post and it's a mahoosive difference in ride quality. driving it like a tank. not a big fan of the ****ty looking steelies but they'll do for now.
