Vintiques 15x10 rallies center bore fitment issues

Hey folks attempting to stuff 315/60/15s insude a stock 1982 SB rear (4" drop) wheel well. The truck for now has a stock 10 bolt axle. wheel has 5" back spacing (-12mm offset). the unexpected issue is the axle hub that passes thru the drum is measuring 3 1/16". the 42-500505 Vintiques are a 3" center bore per the manufacturer.

There's a lot of folks running rallies, the hub diameter never came up with all the concern about dialing in a backspacing that fits max tire in a stock wheel well the the 2.5/4" drop combo.

What's the formula/recipe to fit the 315/60/15 on a 10" wheel ?

What's the 10 bolt out of? The stock wheels should have been like a 3.07 or 3.08 center bore. I was running those on a 82 I had and about to put those same wheels my new addition a 85 I just bought a couple of months ago. What tire are you running Mickey Thompson's?

The 10 bolt rear end is out of another 82 C10. the Vintiques center bore is tight. Measured the axle hub 3 times it's 3.0625", or 3 1/16", but thats a wee bit too big for the rallye wheel. the temptation is to force it, but we should not have to do that. Going from Mickey Thompson 275/50/15s hopefully to Mickey Thompson 315/60/15s to gain the last little bit of contact with the road available using stock wheel wells on a 2.5/4" drop.

Typical aftermarket steel wheel.
Dress it with a stone cone or a round file.
You only need to remove 1/32 inch.

That's a good point Geezer made. Did you check to make sure that there's no burrs on the inside of the center bore of the wheel. Hopefully cleaning it up will allow you put the wheel on with some ease. I'll check mine again tomorrow morning when I go the shop. Good luck. Also have got these mounted and balanced yet? If so how much weights did it take and did put them on just the inside of the wheel or both sides? Just curious because I know some of these tires have been difficult to balance.

Thanks for the replies, There are no burrs. I kinda feel like I walked into the middle of a foreign movie. Everyone uses these rims. I'm wondering if Vintiques is calling 3.000 and 3.0625 the same when their tech support folks say it a 3" center bore. I like the look of the rallies best and wouldn't mind opening them up a little if I knew for sure they would fit the 315/60/15s in the wheel well.

I've not heard of anyone else having to doctor on them. Have you folks?

Before I own it, I'd like to know absolutely sure than the 5" backspacing to going to be enough to fully swallow a 315/60/15. Not being able to slide the rim in contact the drum is keeping me from getting an informative test fit.

I'll bet finding a wheel to place this fat tire inside a stock wheel well with a 4" drop has already been done. I just need to find who has done it. Thanks again folks for giving me a hand.

that's crazy ur having problems with the center bore as I had 15x10s from wheel vintiques an didn't have any problems

Here are the 10's on the back of my ole 82 and yes I do wish I still had it . Still got to put on the rear flip kit and slap on the ole 10's on the new old 85 to see how it looks. I would say that it would be close but with only a 4 inch drop you should be ok. Mine was a 4 inch drop with 15x10's with 5 inch back spacing with 285/70/15 on them. With you wanting to run 315/60/15 which will be around a 3/4" shorter and about 1-3/16" wider which will give you a little more bulge no pun intended than I had. Hope this helps with your decision a little.
