4.5 - 6 drop

This is not a 4.5-6 drop, is it? This is a lowering kit sold by the big Mc'. How can I achieve this drop? An air ride suspension doesn't count. Also, can this stance turn? I hate driving in a straight line.

Re: 4.5 - 6 drop

I would say it is not drivable at that height. From the pics I would say the front control arms are sitting on the ground. That is how my 65 sits when aired out. You could get close to that with a static drop with one of these.http://www.nolimitengineering.com/pr...tegory=6157548

The big Mc is McGaughy. When you Google 4.5/6 inch lowering kit this photo comes up. I like the stance this is the loo I want for my truck.

Re: 4.5 - 6 drop

These are not the best pics, but this long bed has a 4" front and 5" rear drop. Rides and drives nice, no rubbing...Jim

Re: 4.5 - 6 drop

I don't think you can get anywhere near close to that drop without bags or some heavy modifications.

Re: 4.5 - 6 drop

Thats more like an 8-10" front drop with 10-12" in the rear at least. No way its driveable with stock chassis, the crossmember will be laying on the ground. With a 5" front drop on my old 79 I've almost ripped the lower control arms off in construction once so......

Re: 4.5 - 6 drop

Like that deep dish look on the back, 20x14/15 ??? fronts, I would say 20x8

Second look could be a 22/24" rim on the back.

Re: 4.5 - 6 drop

If you want it to sit that low you really need to bag it. Yes, you can set up a static suspension that low, but it would just be a show queen because it's not going to drive like that.

Static is cheaper to do wrong (when speaking of large changes), but much harder to do right. Since you can't adjust it; you have to carefully engineer it to maintain travel, geometry, and ride, none of which will be there if the static stance matches that picture.

An air suspension lets you drop to extreme levels when siting and then air back up to a more usable ride hieght when you want to go somewhere.

My bet is 22x8.5's & 24x15's.
