Black Widow Exhaust

Is anyone running a Black Widow Venom 250 on there LS swap? I'm putting a stock 5.3 into my 67 Suburban. Just wondering how it will sound. I plan on using no cats and just the one muffler to exit on the passengers side behind the rear wheel.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: Black Widow Exhaust

I'll throw this out there just for info sake! My second time around on my 68 c10 5.3 ls got high flow cats, an "X" before a pair of flowmasters. I did the cats to get rid of the raspyness and tone it down some. Sounds pretty tame now, no drone, but has that almost european type high reving v8 sound. If i was to do anything in the future the stock muffler that has 2 in/ 1 out kills the raspyness and when done with aftermarket replacement high flow muffler sound very nice.

I would also consider using a 67-69 camaro (i believe) crossflow muffler, 2 input/2 output. I'd check sound bites or go to youtube and try and listen to a ls camaro. I would install this up high and near the front of the underside of the box sideways (so driveshaft can't nail it).

I wonder what it would be like. Just a system i had rattling around in my brain.

Re: Black Widow Exhaust

My 5.3 is carburated, but runs 50's Flowmasters, no cats. From the front, Hooker street rod shorties, with mandrel bent downs. the system is 2 &1/2" front to back, with h pipe. The tail pipes exit through the rear bumper. She has an awesome sound, no drone on the hyway.....open the throttle, & she "barks"! Not loud enough to cause a problem with "Barney", unless it is WOT Longhorn
