Well i've actually driven my truck for a month now. I bought it earlier this summer, and have been repairing everything you can imagine on it. By the way, thanks to everyone who has given me help. It has been greatly appreciated. I do have a new question for you guys. You know the storage box behind the seat? Anyone have any creative ways of opening that without the key? My ignition key doesn't seem to work and I'm really just wondering what's inside it. Who know's might some money in there for a new carb

i'm not aware of any storage box offered behind the seat. pics would be nice. maybe call a locksmith? they should be able to make you a key for just about any lock. you'll probably have to show proof of ownership, which shouldnt be a big deal if your truck isnt stolen.

I'll post some pics. It looks like it's factory. It looks like a big glove box behind the seat, extends the full length of the truck.

ive never heard of a box behind the seat as standard equipment. Someone coulda painted an aftermarket the same color as your cab to get the look of standard but i doubt its factory. As a matter of fact i think ive seen em in like Sears catalogue and JC Whitney.
Some of the makers of tool cabinets etc use a lock that has a four digit code on the face of the lock next to where the key goes in (something like L856 or C9B4) .If ya can find a code on there go to the locksmith with that code and they could prolly use that to make your key or order one if that code corresponds to the manufacturer of the lock/box
If worst comes to worst id get a can of WD40, a power drill and a whole bunch of high speed drill bits and start drilling out the center of the cylnder. you go bigger and bigger til youve hollowed out the hey hole and the slides in there and then you should either be able to remove the cylinder or turn wats left of it to get the box open. chances are you can just pop off the clip that holds the lock to the door of the box and replace it after that after ya get it open.
word to the wise tho if the box says Pandora on it leave it be never open pandora's box

I have a box storing 2 12"s behind my seat.

Take a look at the lock. If it looks like a cabinet lock, it's probably pretty easy to pick. A couple of hefty paper clips and some patience and you can probably have it open in less than 15 minutes.

If you do get it open this way, once open, you can remove the lock cylinder and take it to a lock smith to make a key, or replace with a new cylinder/key set.

Never been a stock storage box behind the seat that I've ever heard of! Let us know what you find inside though. I'm curious! Lol.
