gas filler neck seal
I'm wanting to replace the seal and have cut the old one out. How the heck do you get the new seal in as part of it goes behind the body. The opening doesn't give you much room to work it through. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Bill

Re: gas filler neck seal
First i used tire lube on the lip and used a small piece of wooden dowel and was able to push it in starting on one side and working it in took me about 5 minutes

Re: gas filler neck seal
I used some dish liquid to lube it up and carefully worked it in.

Re: gas filler neck seal
Yep I had no inclination of pulling out the tank as I just put the seats and carpet back in. I trimmed a small amount off the inner lip and lubed it up as y'all said and with my wife's help worked the lip in through the opening and the outer lip over the neck. It worked perfect and looks the same...
Thanks for all the help. Bill

Re: gas filler neck seal
I asked this question on here about a year ago. Some said remove the tank and others said lube it and put it on. All I had on hand was some WD40, worked like a charm and took about a minute.
