Anyone know what this is? Was bolted to the bottom of the drivers side frame on a 1972 Jimmy. Thanks

Re: Part identification help

In 1971 and 72 4WD trucks got those to keep the leaf spring from coming through the floor pan in a front end collision.

Re: Part identification help

Just a side note - if you are running the stock front springs with the inverted arch, it is probably good to keep this piece in place. When compressed, the inverted springs pull the rear shackles forward, away from the bracket. However, if you are running lift springs that have a downward arch, you will want to get rid of the bracket. When compressed, the lift springs will push the rear shackles towards the bracket and hit it. This will prevent the driver side spring from fully compressing and will cause a "thunk" noise when the spring eye hits the bracket.
