Re: Seat belts

DPete, Waht do you have below the floor to reinforce the sheet metal? A small plate or a long tube, something else?

Just a thick grade 8 washer as big as would fit

Re: Seat belts

On mine i ran 3 pt auto retracting belts for driver and passenger and a 2 pt for middle. All floor mount are to a 1" square tube that runs the width of the cab (and is also a full length floor stiffener) . The upper 3pt connect to the bolt holding the upper part of external grab rails. I tried an auto re-tractor middle 3 pt but its incompatible with the original bench seat set up. I replaced it with a standard non-retract and it works fine and doubles to hold the console/drink holder in place. I have the retract set up with the heavy duty 2"x4" floor pads and bolts avail cheep and would work fine for Drivers or passenger sides.

Re: Seat belts

if you are worried about it you could bolt the belts to the floor and on the back side, under the nut, fab a L shaped bracket to use as a waher and then on the other side of the L you can attach a cable or strap of some kind (flexible for cab movement) to go to the frame of the truck. that would keep the seat belt with the truck for sure.
I had some sheet metal (16ga) bent to match the original floor contour at a sheet metal place. since i was going to fab a new floor and wanted the original contour look. they were fairly cheap to have made. you could do the same and use them under the floor to reinforce the area where the belts attach. maybe thicker than 16 ga for seat belts though.
