1966 C10 Front End Drop
Really need some help on this.
I have a 1966 C10 with a 350. I want to use CPP 2.5 inch drop spindles and CPP 3" drop springs for my front end. I should not need ANY other mods correct? Need to know this FOR SURE! My truck sits at 26 7/8 from the ground to the bottom of my wheel lip moulding on the front end now. I want it to stay the same. With the drop I am intending to do will I have any issues with camber and tow being set correctly? I do not want to have to do any additional mods... Does anyone have a 64-66 with a 2.5 drop spindle and 3" drop spring done already on the front I can see the side view and get the measurement from ground to bottom of the wheel lip moulding? I have 235-75 R15 tires with 15 x 6 stock steelies. Let me know thanks for all the help! |

Re: 1966 C10 Front End Drop
My truck has a very similar drop. But I can go ahead and tell you with that tall of a tire and factory inner fenders it's not gonna work. Mine was bottoming out terrible and it would stop the wheels from turning. I would recommend a smaller tire with that much drop. I've got some pics in my build thread, Links in my signature

Re: 1966 C10 Front End Drop
Nice truck you have!! My truck has already been dropped 4 to 5 inches already now in the front and really like the way it looks..... See the picture. I saw a guy that had a 66 like mine with a 3 inch drop spring and still had about 2 inches open air between the tire and the wheel lip moulding. Did you do the 2.5 drop spindle and 3" in drop spring with a 235 75 tire and that happened? One guy said he did his 63 like this and it was fine.. but the only reason I am thinking of doing this is my camber now I cannot set correctly. The front coils were cut 1.5 coils off. I am assuming that is about 4 to 5 inches... thoughts...
