1973 Jimmy rear drum to disc conversion suggestions
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been discussed before but i'm new to the board. I have a 1973 Jimmy 2wd and want to do a rear drum to disc conversion. Has anyone had great success with one brand or another or with simple conversions from another vehicle etc? All help is appreciated. Cheers,Glen |

I've seen a couple people use the 91'-96' Impala/caprice rears with great results, and you keep your bolt pattern.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Any idea if the stock master cylinder etc will work with it? |

I'm not sure about the master cylinder, one blazer that comes to mind is xxlf250, he has poerterbuilt up front and custom in the rear and i know he used an Impala rear end. Reach out to him, he can probably help you, he also has a build thread for that blazer on here.

Little Shop of Horrors has a disc brake conversion for our trucks.. Do a google search for "little shop of horrors disc brake" and it is the first thing that comes up in the search..
The whole complete kit is $389.. |

I'm not trying to be a fly in the ointment but why do a rear disc conversion? Stopping power is just fine with with your front discs and drum rears.
My '08 4X4 Chevy Pickup has Disc-Drum.... Just wondering-and I don't mean to offend.

My Blazer is a mall crawler - / Ice cream run / soccer coaching mobile for my family. I just went it as safe as possible which includes stopping as soon as it can when I want to stop. I have always heard that discs are better is all.
