Hydroboost conversion clarification
Hello all,
I'm doing a hydroboost conversion on my 71 with manual brakes. I have a hydroboost/master combo that I pulled from a 90's 2500 Van that had front discs and rear drums, just like on my C10, but there was no proportioning assembly. Can I run this master without an additional proportioning assembly since the van it came off of was disc/drum just like my C10? |

Re: Hydroboost conversion clarification
Did it go through an ABS module? If so, that was the porp valve.
I'd swap the master to an older style.

Re: Hydroboost conversion clarification
It didn't look like it. The hard lines connected to the master ran directly under the van along the firewall area, and there wasn't any other module in between.
Edit: Could I use the prop valve off of my manual brake assembly? |

Re: Hydroboost conversion clarification
I don't see why not.
The van might have had the ABS module underneath. There's not much room in the engine compartment. Which fittings are you using for the hoses? I need to start on my conversion soon.

Re: Hydroboost conversion clarification
You're right, it may have been underneath the firewall.
I plan on using a later-year power steering pump so that all the fittings are metric, and then have my local hydraulics shop make the lines for me. I don't have power steering (yet) so this takes a lot of the guess work out of it. |
