Shift Linkage Question Picture Needed.
Ten years after taking this thing apart, I'm missing a piece that attaches the shift linkage rod to the steering column shifter. However, I may not be missing it if I know what I'm looking for. Lol!!
I need a picture so that I know what I'm looking for. Here's what I have: 1. Old linkage parts on the 4L60E Transmission 2. Linkage rod 3. Linkage point on the column 4. __________ the piece I'm missing to connect the rod to the column??? Disregard the dirty parts, I'll get to cleaning and painting them later. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Mike

Re: Shift Linkage Question Picture Needed.
The end of your rod with the hair pin is what hooks to the column. You are missing the clamp that hooks the lower end of the rod to the z bar.

Re: Shift Linkage Question Picture Needed.
Crazy is correct . There is a clamp that the plane end of the rod slides in and there is a bolt that clamps to hold it in place . Then it slides in the z bar with a clip to hold it into place . Also I dont see the nylon spacer that goes behind the spring at the frame . There is a half round plastic piece that holds the z bar center in that hole and lets it slide in and out as the engine moves . It may be in there and just cant see it .
Also The rod piece is round looking with a bolt in the end . Maybe this will help you find it while digging in your box . Last edited by homemade87; 06-19-2017 at 08:06 AM. |
