Repo vs OEM Doors

Long and short - I found a 1987 custom deluxe that the owner is willing to part out. The doors are base model, no power anything. But they seemed very flimsy - oil canning when closed, etc. The current GM doors on my truck seem sturdier.

How can I tell between aftermarket and GM doors?

Are the door shells available from NPD any good?

Re: Repo vs OEM Doors

If you look under the door panel, repo's are probably going to have the black e-coat inside of them rather than be fully body color.

Re: Repo vs OEM Doors

The vents on the after market doors I was going to use, were not fully stamped. on the edge of the door. I tossed them and cut the rust out of mine and repaired the original doors. a TON happier
