I have recently bought a 1969 C10 it has American racing wheels on it wanting to go back to the original Chevy rally wheels my question is it sits at factory height I wanting to lower it To a good stance so there is no gap any suggestions what ride height and what I should use to lower it . I am on a budget and it still has drum brakes on it .

Can't help on the lowering of the truck
Had to say that is one clean '69 c10. Way nice.

Your truck sits about like mine did. I cut one full coil off of the bottom of the front springs and it gave me the rake I wanted.

I like the rally wheels on these trucks but I think the first truck rally wheels were on square bodies... '74 or so.

Your probably right I did not mean to say original for the 69 c10 . I know a lot of the late 60s and 70s have the GM / corvette style rally wheels on them and I like that look .

Looks a LOT lower in the rear than the '71 GMC that's sitting in my driveway. Are you staying 6 lug and going to run Blazer/4x4 rims or converting to disc brakes and 5 lug?

I'm a HUGE proponent for discs if you drive the truck at all in traffic. So, a couple of options. Try and keep a 28" tall tire all the way around or at least 27" in front (225 70 15 meets that) and 28" rear (275 60 15 meets that).

Switching to discs I'd run the drop spindles and stock springs with 5" rear spring then adding a block if you weren't happy with the drop. Or 2" front springs if you stay drum then a 4" rear. Add the block if you need more drop.

I think it's had a earlier restoration at sometime ininterior is in mint condition..

Look on craigslist or the for sale ads here for used drop springs. I'd do a 3/4 spring with a 1" block in the rear.
