Question Should I give out info????

Simple question:
As you know I have been preparing for a tank conversion (underbed) and Tennman fuel fill. I fainally got all parts and will be hopefully completeing it Sunday and Monday. I will give a how to with picks after I'm done. My question is: I found a really good deal on new tanks complete. I would like to give the info out on this sight, but I don't want to upset the vendors. I don't want to sell the tanks, just give out info on where to get them for good price. If the overwhelming majority thinks I shouldn't tell, then I won't. AT ALL. That includes PMs. I respect everyone on this board including the vendors (They have been very helpful to everyone). I will decide after viewing the poll on Monday Night. Vendors feel free to post also!!

The place I found them is cheaper than most vendors on this sight, but is a reputable company!! I don't want to cause hate and discontent.

This is the United States of America...home of free enterprise.

Does anybody remember a few years ago when instrument bezels were 100 and dash pads were 140?

Price competition is good.

Bring it on buddy, save me some money!

I believe the vendors on this board can take it. So far it's unanimous. So fess up, what's the big deal, so to speak?

I don't think it would be in the best interest of the vendors to try to keep any info off this board. People would stop using it if they thought it was being manipulated.

Good point 68 Suburban!!!! But to be fair, the vendors have run special deals for us, and I would hate to loose their knowledge base without at least a democratic vote. After all, that is what this country is all about, right Tx Firefighter!!!

I feel Truckster has a valid point. I wouldn't use a vendor that complained. This is an enthusiast forum, not a vendor site.
BTW--I paid $200 for my Blazer gas tank delivered.

I doudt you'll run any of the board vendors out of business. plus i would think this board has brought plenty of good busniess towards the vendors that hang with us around here.

You sure you don't just like playing "I got a secret"?J/K

Seriously though, most of us that do business with the vendors on this board do so because of many reasons, not just bottom line. Service, parts quality, the ability to communicate with them are some other things that people take into account. I don't think getting underpriced on one item is going to put them out of business.

Naw, I'm not playing the secret game, I promise. I tell you what, somebody get vendor on the thread to tell me it's cool and I will release the info. That is the only way, unless we wait till Monday night. Like I said, just trying to be fair.

They do I think. The deal is that I have seen broad ranges for these tanks. Even used tanks fetch a pretty penny.

I got my 86 Blazer tank, skid plate, crossmembers and fill tube for 60 bucks and they took it all off for me.

Sure it was from a salvage yard but in nice shape. Not sure what teh measurements are on the frames but mines a 77 chassis. I do have the larger tank too. They had 2 different sizes.
