LS conversion motor mounts?
Looking for some advice on LS swap motor mounts for my 68 step side? Took out the straight 6 and there are so many companies out there making them. Seeing if anyone had good experience with one company from another.

I bought the newest CPP sheet metal engine and frame mounts from summit racing. They fit perfect. My truck is a 70 c10

Dirty Dingo Sliders look really promising. The nice part about them is that depending on your previous setup, you can just slide the mounts forward and back to hopefully maintain your previous driveshaft. With a lot of the conversion mounts out there, there are only a couple pre drilled mounting locations. With the sliders, you can fit it exactly where you want to.

CPP mounts are adjustable. The frame mounts do go in the stock location. CPP engine mounts are adjustable within reason very similar to the dirty dingo sliders. I chose the cpp mounts because I did not want to drill holes in my cross member. The sheet metal frame mounts bolt in stock location.

They work in either the V8 or 6-cylinder position, clearance for any kind of headers or manifolds, look clean and simple. Don't use the cheap Chinese rubber mounts, though. Go ahead and get the Energy Suspension urethane mount upgrade.

I recently dropped my engine in on Early Classic mounts. Its not done yet but I like the way it sits. Fits well with a ctsv pan that is easily available, has room for a low mount a/c compressor with minimal frame tweaking, and allowed a 4l80e to go under a low hump tunnel.

Well the style I used has a plate that bolts to the (4 bolt) engine side. Then it has the 3 bolt similar to what you have in photo. I'm not saying that they all will fit the same. I know you have to buy the right kind that fits the style of frame mounts you have. I wouldn't personally want the fixed kind. Depending on which style pulleys you have and oil pan, the adjustable ones let you slide them to the front or back as needed to clear firewall and crossmember and pulleys. Sorry to make it sound confusing.

Hopefully racecougar responds, but I will probably end up buying the Speed Engineering plates. They aren't sliders like most plates, but they have multiple holes for a total 2-1/4" of adjustment via (4) sets of holes. I'm not running A/C so that will eliminate some of the clearance concerns typical of these trucks.

But just guessing. I would say they will all fit the frame side the same. I think basically all the conversion mounts do is flip the ls style to fit a factory configuration. Worst case if it didn't line up, you drill the plates and put the mount where you want it.

I used the dirty dingo sliders on my 65 they worked awesome was so nice just to quickly slide the engine back and forth to position it . On my wife’s 61 I’m trying the ICT ones off Amazon they have multi holes for different positions

If you want to use the factory perches and have the bolt through the back of the motor mount use these. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ens-3-1156g
I used factory perches with those motor mounts on dirty dingo sliders. It can be a pain by yourself to get the bolt lined up going from the perch to the motor mount since you can't really see it. Do some aftermarket perches that have the bolt through style change the motor height/position compared to the factory perches? I see some people run the AC compressor down low and some move it up because of clearance. |

I used the dirty dingo sliders on my 68 and I didn’t like them for a couple reasons. They sit up 1/4 higher than stock so I had to bend the tab back in the transmission tunnel with my 4l60, and also if you want to slide the motor all the way forward you have to trim the passenger side rubber mount. But other than that they worked and looked nice.
