Who's running a low mount A/C compressor???

Tell us what motor mounts/adapter plates you are using and how much frame tweaking (if any) you had to do. How far forward did you have to mount the motor? What headers are you running? Thanks!

I am in the process of getting the low mount AC compressor to fit into my 1962 C20. Using a stock 2010 Camaro engine with the stock AC comp. The engine mounts are Dirty Dingo sliders, bolted to a 1979 3/4T front cross member and stock clamshell mounts. I had to cut the AC bracket to clear the eng mounts and notch the frame. The picture shows the frame notch, but I need to cut more rearward (into the frame mount) for more clearance.

Hopefully, this weekend, I will get the notch boxed in.

I am running cpp mounts. No cutting or bending needed. Fits perfect. I am also running camaro ss manifolds.

Steve, I used mounting plates from Tejas Steelworks for my LS swap. They allow for mounting of the stock a/c compressor and bracket without cutting the frame rail. A/C adapters from Cold Hose (coldhose.com, see GM 5.3L compressor blocks) are used so that the a/c lines can be installed. It's a snug fit, but the compressor can be removed from the engine if needed, without having to lift out the engine. In the second pic, it looks like the screw holding a fitting to the compressor is touching the frame rail, but there is actually a space of about 1/2"

The CPP mounts, are they the short ones? Thanks.

Yes, the short ones. Make sure your compressor has the correct valve in the rear of it. There are threads about it.
