u joint?
My Dana 44 axle is in need of a u joint. I measured the cap size with it in the axle and its a 1.062 and my overall length is 3.250. Is this the correct way to measure or do I need to pound it out the axle to measure? I'm having trouble finding a u joint for these measurements.. its a 71 blazer and curious if there is only one size for these trucks?

Re: u joint?
The old Spicer number is 297 ( I think ) .....they make an upgraded stronger one....listed as DS U-760

Re: u joint?
Are you looking for the axle joints or the U-joints for the driveshaft???
5-260X is the correct joint for up to '72 with 1.062 diameter caps...some late '72 and later 44s ('73-up) used 5-760x with 1.188 caps http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p178...fits_chev.html
