Walbro in tank fuel pump

I have a Boyd's tank with a Walbro GSS342 pump with about 7000 miles that is now whining like a banshee. Anyone else have a similar issue. I Googled that pump and it seems like a common problem but with no solution. Neither Boyd or Walbro have been any help. In my humble opinion a fuel pump should last many miles without any issues.

I don't have any experience with that pump but what is Walbro's warranty on that pump?

Re: Walbro in tank fuel pump

If it's the same company Walbro makes great carbs for small engines. I've used several over the years and had no complaints. I'm surprised they are having a quality issue with fuel pumps and not rectifying it. Probably started going overseas with production.

I've had the pump too long, 7 years or so. The truck's been on the road for two years so it took a while for the problem to develop. Googling that pump number brings up many similar complaints and the nickname "Whinebro".
