68 C10 Converting to power steering
I have a 68 C10 V8 that I would like to convert to power steering.
My truck currently has the original manual steering it came with. It was a 250 six cylinder standard shift truck now a 305 AT. i have a good power steering pump that I`ve already mounted. I have a good power steering box from a 73 - 78 C10 that I have not mounted yet. My questions are: Can I reuse my original manual steering parts such as the pitman arm, the idler arm and the center link. If not what if any parts can I reuse. I`m tired of the armstrong steering during parking. Cheers!! Ron |

Re: 68 C10 Converting to power steering
My understanding is that you will need a new pitman arm, and maybe a new rag joint. I believe the center link is OK.

Re: 68 C10 Converting to power steering
I did the same I-6 to V-8 conversion on my 69 C-10 and I converted to power steering at the same time. I used a steering box from an 87 C-10 and I used a pitman arm for a 69 C-10 with power steering and a rag joint to fit the 87 donor vehicle.
