The repops are cast. Were the original ones forged?

When I was searching into forged re-pops we were looking at $200 pair. Minimum order was 500 sets. Board interest supported about 30 sales.

For decorative purposes only? Damn, I'll cast some from aluminum at half that price !! I think I have a few spare aluminum heads kicking around.

Someone is going to get killed trying to use these in the future when the fact that they are only toys is lost to time. Flying shrapnel anyone?

Re: check this out repop tow hooks

The idea of having these hooks for show is interesting - however why would anyone pay marginally less for repops when they can just spend a little extra and find the real deal?

Also - they should NOT have the GM part numbers on them and they should certainly be marked something like SHOW ONLY - DO NOT USE

They probably could take a bit of weight but that's not something you want to gamble with - especially as at least one guy always seems to want to stand within 10 feet of the strap or chain when pulling...
