WTB Temperature Sending Wire

Looking for a temperature sending wire for my 1977 Chevy truck with 350. The wire is green and has a plastic end on it that covers the terminal end. If you look at the pictures mine has been butt connected with a red wire and the plastic end is broke. I would like to get one as long as I can so I can make the splice inside the main harness. Plastic end needs to be intact as well. Thanks for any help.

Re: WTB Temperature Sending Wire

I had this wire under my hood and thought it went somewhere else, clipped it and spliced it to extend it, then when I hooked it up my temperature light was on. That's when I realized that the owner before me had unhooked it and stuck it right next to the carb, probably because he didn't remember to tag his lines when installing something. Needless to say, now I have a butt splice right next to the plastic cap that sits on the temperature sending unit! Ugh.

Not helpful to you, but thought I'd share this:

You could de-solder the connector and run a green cable soldered directly to the connector. For $5, it's worth a shot.

I feel your pain, and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I may just do that.

I have the correct length wire along with the OEM asphalt sleeving and white terminal connector. I build these harnesses so if you only need that lead I can supply it from the bulkhead connector all the way to your temp sensor in the block-correct length and components. $14 shipped for ya. PM if you want it and I’ll send ya my paypal info! Its nice to keep things that this factory in appearance so there arent any worries.
